About Our Party
The Republican Party, often called the GOP, or “Grand Old Party”, is one of America’s two major political parties. Since its founding in 1854, the Party has stood for freedom, opportunity, and individual responsibility. Rooted in the belief that government should be limited, accountable, and respectful of the Constitution, Republicans have led the way in advancing liberty, strengthening families, and defending the values that make our nation strong. From Abraham Lincoln’s leadership in preserving the Union to Ronald Reagan’s vision of a shining city on a hill, the GOP has carried forward a proud tradition of faith, family, and freedom.
